Translation Methods

Each text has its content, wrapped and packaged in a style. Different methods exist to bring the content into another language.

At one end of the spectrum is literal translation, and this method of translating word for word handles the content (sometimes poorly), leaving style behind.

At the other end of the spectrum you find the "free" translation. In this case, “free” does not mean “without charge” but rather “loose”, meaning the translator analyses the text, isolating its message, then communicates this meaning in his own words in the target language. This method promotes style, sometimes even placing it above content, thus altering its purpose, which is to carry your message. Content may get lost when using this method, and other content may be added by the translator that you never intended.

In the middle of the spectrum, you find idiomatic translation, a method that remains faithful to both content and style, carrying both across into the other language. It is this method that we use to ensure your satisfaction.
